The Green Streets Initiative, founded in Cambridge, MA in 2006, works to celebrate and promote sustainable and active transportation in Boston, Cambridge, and beyond. The Green Streets Initiative is all about getting people to be more aware of their daily commute and to start thinking green. Green Streets aims to spread the word and encourage people to start walking or riding bikes for transportation. As such, the last Friday of every month is Walk/Ride Day. Participants who engage in Walk/Ride Day are encouraged to “check-in” their progress. Participants who check-in are automatically entered into an online raffle! In addition, Green Streets has a Walk/Ride Day Corporate Challenge, encouraging businesses to check-in. Businesses that participate are eligible for additional raffle prizes!
